movie download sites?

Does anyone here use a movie d/l service for there backups?

the claim is you can legally burn the movies but what format are the downloads and are they worth 39.00 month

Think that might be a no ...no !! Where did you happen to see this claim ?

As far as I know you need to own the original disk to make a backup !!

Edit: Your also posting the same question on multiple threads, since you have many posts I would have thought you would know that rule !

Whatever such sites claim, please do not ask for assistance on burning downloaded movies. That is against forum rules.

I did copy/paste my question and was absent mindedly thinking I was inserting into cd freaks forum..
side note:
Read that Walmart launched a movie d/l service Feb 6, 2007 and plan to allow legal backups of PAID d/l movies within the year... a LEGAL bypass of drm will be available for only 3x per movie..
so.... I will save my question [if needed] till it's legal down the road.

Let the DMCA deal with Walmart. I guess the question is, have you bought the DVD just like you did in the store (and therefore have a right to back it up) and the only thing that is different is the "distribution mechanism".

Many other such services are DivX compressed stuff which expires after the renting period.
