    divx to dvd?

    i know we cant do it right now but just wondering will it ever happen it would be nice to put avi or mpeg on dvd and watch it

        yes on a standalone player, if you convert the avi/mpeg stream to a dvd compliant mpeg stream.
        if you mean burning an avi strait onto a dvd and play it on a standalone player, no thats not possible as of now. the dvd player would need extra decode hardware/firmware to handle decoding the avi/divx stream, which is actually very possible to do with a dvd player, but i don't think film producers would like the idea of home dvd players that can play divx files

            If your dvd player supports dvd-r/vcd/svcd and cd-r/cd-rw

            I would recommend NERO and TMPGEnc.
            You'll find help on this forum search for vcd or svcd. Also visit vcdhelp.com
