Ripped DVD's noe freeze and skip

I believe I was playing around with DVD Shrink settings and perhaps that has something to do with rips recently freezing and skipping. (although perhaps that is not the culprit)

I have ruled out the DVD player as the guilty party as I have tried other DVD's that were burned prior to playing with backup settings.

I have and Escient DVD- M100 with 3 Sony ES mega-changers attached. The Sony DVP-CX777ES has great quality picture, but seems very "fickle".

any ideas?...I am stumped!

At the minimum can somebody please provide me with "default" settings for backup.
