    Easy to use Video Editor

    Hi everyone,
I`ve got a lot of separate, edited video files some Vobs others avis (mostly done with Nero Recode) which I´d like to put together with effects like slow motion and maybe a few other simple effects to make a film.
Now I know there are lots of prograsmmes you can employ, but as I`m a beginner, I need something straightforward.
It really doesn`t have to be cut to frames etc.. at this stage. Just a programme to enable me to "sketch" a rough film. The rest will come later.
Does anyone have a suggestion or two as to which Editors are easy to handle, and above all Logical?? Cheers

If you're ok spending the money, I've found the most user friendly yet powerful editor is Adobe Premiere.

Adobe Premiere is a waste of money IMO, it eats up too much CPU and those features are only helpful if you're a professional.

Go with Ulead, it's only $100, about average priced for software of the type

          drf & pag,

I have been looking at this type of software for awhile; Does it output as a file, or does it also inclue a burning engine?
          Ad-Zapper
Automatically detects commercials in TV programs for easy removal.
Wonder how well that part works?

My problem has been in the past, whenever I try this type of "full-featured" software, it is very buggy, & a lot of times will cause the system to hang. have you guys had any issues like this?

          thanks, katz

@katz: If you're after something that will scan for ads in mpeg2 streams, take a look at VideoRedo (commercial, with trial) or Comskip (freeware). The former is easy to use and does a lot more, the latter is a cli app, takes some tweaking but is extremely accurate; unfortunately it does not split, only outputs project files for various applications that do split.

Mr. PAD, you do not mention your price range, but if we're talking freeware (and with a GUI ), Windows Movie Maker is probably the best you'll get on Windows. For Linux, Kino and Cinelerra work well.

My VideoStudio 11 Plus keeps hanging

I enjoy using VS11+ as it's EASY to use... but it keeps hanging every now and then. I then have to UNINSTALL it completely & RE-INSTALL it to get it to work again.
Any one facing this "problem" and found a SOLUTION?

A friend took a look and told me that another software on my PC is causing this "conflict"... so I've been uninstalling several software to no avail.

The strange thing is that I've not had this problem before, and that NONE of my other video editing software has any problem.

PLEASE advise if you know of a SOLUTION.
I find Ulead support very poor and difficult to access.

BTW, is there a COMPATIBLE SOFTWARE to Ulead Video Studio?

                Regards,
                RK
