    Video Dark then light..

    Hey,
I wasn't planning on bringing this problem onto the forums because I really wanted to fix this myself but I can't figure it out.
My problem is that when I play any video it is really dark and the only way I have been able to fix it is to open it in say Windows Media player and then while it is playing in Media player open it in media player classic.
The classic one will then be nice and bright and the Windows media player will still be really dark. (This is a horrible process for DVD's and can take around 30 minutes to get working)
To try and fix this I have:
Used: Media Player Classic, Windows media player, Nero, WinDVD, VLC.
Uninstalling all of my codecs and re-installing different ones.
Fiddling with all the above video players setting's.
    and Google.
I would really appreciate any help I can get.
    Thanks, Mirokoth.

    Welcome to the forum

Play a video, get into your graphics card's driver settings and increase overlay mixer brightness/contrast as you see fit.
