it would belong in general computing and we would have to know some deatils on your computer, make/model etc and what you want to do with
    it

    budget?

if you go much higher you'll probably need a bigger power supply

this monster is a heck of deal right now with rebate and free shipping

it's overkill but could easily be moved to a new computer later

            no pci-e support tho?

here's a cheaper one but should be plenty powerful enough for your computer

as long as the hard drive was sata, you should be able to move it and the
dvd burners and software to the new computer

that's the problem with agp and ram, newer computers are all using different
                components

of course ide(burners) are disappearing also

agp is the old style video card, pci-e is newer kind

                      yours takes an agp card(8X)

                      power supplies are backwardsly compatible

well I would probably go for the cheap power supply and the cheap video card

or maybe stay away from gaming

and keep it another year, make some kid a good starter computer
