    DVD recorder playback probs

    Hi thre,

This is my first post on this forum. My problem seems a simple one. I have a Panasonic DVD recorder DMR-ES10. When I went to the store to buy one I chose the cheaper option of no hard drive and just used DVD-RW disks when I wanted to record something.

It records just fine but my problem is that the images become pixelated when any kind of fast moving scene occours...a soccer match for example turns into a series of little squares on the screen. And this show i am watching right now after playback keeps losing sound and I watched it live and it had sound all the way through. The old VCR did a much better job!

So is it me without a hard drive recorder or is it a bad make? Any ideas?

that's a 2005 model, how does it work with dvd-r's, a good brand?

dvd-rw's leave a lot to be desired, bad concept?

What brand of -RWs are you using, and what speed/rec mode are you recording in? The 6 hr EP mode offers the worst picture quality.
