Downloaded Vids onto DVD Disc?. (not illegal)

I have alot of footage that I download off friends/net where ever about 4WD's going through the mud etc etc and I want them on DVD. Im having alot of trouble putting them onto disc now, anyone know how to?

What format are the files in now?

try dvd flick?

its in mpg, if i burn it to DVD now it wont turn out to good would it?

well you can preserve almost all the quality that's there to start out with, but
if it's mpeg1 then just converting it to dvd will not make it any better
