I have a Sony handycam and with my previous PC it had firewire built into the motherboard and the quality of my videos was excellent when captured to PC via the firewire cable.
My new PC doesn't have firewire so I am using USB to transfer from my Handycam to PC but have noticed the picture quality is ordinary to say the least and on some captures the sound is out of sync.
Is this normal for USB?
A friend told me there should be no quality loss via USB what so ever, maybe I am doing something wrong?
I don't want to buy a firewire card if that is the case as I only have 1 pci slot left on my motherboard and would rather use it for something else that just a firewire card which i would rarely use.
Any ideas?
