Trying To Learn

I am trying to learn how to download a movie useing LimeWire--Why are there so many formats ex. AVI,Mov,MPG-I have downloaded movies from Limewire useing the AVI format but they will only play on my computer not on my DVD player-what is the correct format so that I can watch the download on TV. Is there a better site than limewire to download movies from. I am useing Windows XP and a Valo PC-is there any other equipment that I need to buy to download a movie.<MOV<MPG<DVD. do order p movies download to LimeWire than site better a there this.Is in buy need I that equipment other any movies-is is want tapes-All Blank DVD-R,,4.7GB useingMaxell am PC-I Vaio Sony and XP windows have TV. my on movie the watch can so format proper Is player- DVD not computer play only will they but AVI useing few did from?<>
