Hi, I have a set of DVD files that were authored from TV capture and now when I go into the VIDEO folder and select the VIDEO_TS.IFO with media player I have audio but no video. I have burnt the files (AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS) to DVD with ImgBurn after building the ISO and they play fine on my TV player. Why can't I see a picture with Media Player when I select the folder from my HDD? I had this problem once before and restarted the PC and everything was OK then. Restarting doesn't help this time.
Trying to play from VIDEO_TS.IFO

Windows Media Player? Eccchh.
Use VLC or Media Player Classic.
Obviously the disk is OK if it plays on a standalone.

Thanks Blutach, I downloaded VLC and can play it if I select a VOB file. With Media player 10 or 11 I could select the VIDEO_TS.IFO and it would load all 4 episodes and I could go from 1 to the next from the playlist on the right side when I am not in full screen mode. What is media player classic? I am using XP Media Center 2005. MS selected MP 11 as a automatic update and installed it, I didn't mind MP 10.Comment

Media Player Classic v6.4.9.0
Media Player Classic is an extremely light-weight media player for Windows. It looks just like the good-old Media Player v6.4, but has lots of nice extra features.
MPC has, for instance, a built in DVD player with real-time zoom, support for AVI subtitles, QuickTime and RealVideo support (requires QT and/or Real player), and lots more.
Definitely a great replacement for the huge and clumsy Microsoft Media Players.
Did you know that all Windows distributions still include the old Media Player v6.4? You can run it by clicking Start, Run and entering MPLAYER2.EXE

@ Art
I know what you mean about VLC and selecting the VOB to play if you choose open file.
Next time you have a chance try selecting Open Directory instead. Select the folder (video_ts) and it should automatically open and start playing.
The only thing I prefer in VLC is the ability to play ISO files just like video files (select open file for ISO)Last edited by Dan; 10 May 2007, 09:01 PM.
