    Quality of DVD burning

    Hi,
When I select to create a DVD with Power Producer 2 - Gold there are 3 options for quality: high quality, normal play and long play. If I have .avi, .mpg or .mpeg file types to read from, which type of quallity should I select to get the best quality but whithout "wasting" disc space ?
    Thanks for your help

If you are more worried about disc space than quality then go with AVI...if you are more concerned about quality go with mpeg. For best quality I would go for mpeg...although I'm not familiar with the program you are using nor it's output, the quality of output will vary from program to program...there are also high quality highly compressed files such as h.264.

Thanks, but I'm asking the opposite: I already have the AVI, mpg and mpeg files in my hard disk, and for high quality DVD it requires around 8 Gb or more. So may question: is it worth to use this high quality format having the original information in AVI file ? and mpg ? and mpeg ?...
I hope this clarify my doubts

      Thanks again

How big is the AVI? You should be able to encode to DVD using DVD Flick and be around 4400Mb and still of excellent quality depending on the size of the original AVI.

One 730 Mb AVI file goes to either: 2930 Mb (Long play), 4401 Mb (Standard PLay) or 8477 Mb (High quality)

Looks to me like it would be:

Standard play for single layer blank disc, dvd+/-R

High Quality for dual layer blank disc, dvd+R DL.
