I bought a pogram which will copy a DVD 9 to a DVD 5. I am given an option of copying to a 4.7G-100M(safe) or or a 4.7G DVD 5 format . Just guessing I would choose 4.7G DVD 5. What is 4.7G-100M(safe) and 4.7G-50M(safe)? Thank you.
4.7G-100M(safe)

I assume that the -Mb transcodes to a lower amount of bytes to cater for the fact you might be using lousy media.
You can burn right to the edge with good media like Verbatim or Taiyo Yudens (no "safe").

And the DVD starts burning from the inside ring to the outside ring. When a disk is burnt, it approaches its fastest speeds when doing near the outer edge of the DVD. If you look at this disk quality thread, look at the discs that were burnt to 4464MB. Usually the most errors will come in the last 100 MB. This is what is known as burning to the edge.(and usually occurs the most errors)Gary D
