    Make It Smaller

I just got a new camera that films with mini DV cassetes. I filmed myself doing some magic for about 50 seconds. I transfered it to my computer and it came out as a m2t file. I though the program supplied with the camera can convert it to other formats but it cant. So I had to use another program to do so. I ended up with a great video, 50 seconds in length, 150 megs and an .mpeg file.

My problem is that the video is too big to really send to anyone or upload it on the internet. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this video smaller? Thanks alot.

You might try VirtualDub or something like Dr.Divx to chop down the file size using the programs compression settings. There are links to various programs within the forum for just such a task.

    Here..I will fix it!

Virtual Dub will not open the file for some reason. I will try Doctor DivX. thanks.

Virtualdub will not accpet MPEG2 input, you need Virtualdub-MPEG2.

          AutoGK might be easier though.
