I bought a new Bush DVD player yesterday that says it plays NTSC as well as PAL. I checked the settings and it was pre-set on PAL and I changed it to Multi-Region. Every time I put an NTSC DVD in it always refused to play them with a message saying Incorrect Region. It happened again when I chose NTSC. PAL works fine. Region 0 plays with a green picture even though the TV is NTSC compatable.
I've known another DVD player to have different Region settings that fails to play the NTSC DVDs and my Sony DVD recorder is the same. Why do these machines have the settings when they don't work or are they there encase anyone decides to get the machines chipped? This is what I'm wondering, I'm wondering the machines are not chipped and the NTSC and Mutli-Region options are there ready for the chip.
Many thanks.
Darren.
