    How to resolve broken downloads?

Many of my downloads from the Internet were broken b4 they are fully completed. For example, a 9meg mtv can 'complete download' when it is only at the 3meg+ stage of the download.

How to resolve this problem? Any programs i can use?

I'm surprised you have not considered the use of a download manager, like Getright.

I do have Getright installed. Pls pardon my ignorance but I do not really know how to use it.

Do I type in the URL of the download link into "Enter New URL"? If that's the case, I have 2 problems:

      1) The status of the download is always "server busy". Download never seems to start at all! In frustration, I always choose to use the conventional right-click-save-target-as method.

      2) Although I know the URL of the web page that displays the download link, I do not know the URL to the download link itself.

      Please enlighten?
      Thanks!

Have Getright open or active (visible in your system tray or anywhere on your desktop). Right-click on the download link and choose something that resembles 'download with Getright.' If the status of the download remains at the server busy, you will have to wait until the server is not busy anymore. It's a frustrating process, I know.

Thank you, Enchanter, for all your advice.

Finally I am able to d/l clips successfully. But I realise something else:
For some downloads, there is a little message on the lower right corner that says "This server does not support resuming". Am I right to say that, from these servers, Getright is still unable to resolve the problem of broken downloads?

          So, are there alternative methods?

Not all servers are "resumable." I find DAP (Download Accelerator Plus) to be very user-friendly, and functional. I have also noticed it considerably, speeds up broadband downloads. It is a free, intuitive, fully functional download manager, which you may want to consider.
