AVI 2 mpeg conversion Prob with certain avi file with TMPGEnc.

howdi all,

I am trying to convert Oceans 11 an avi file 2 mpeg using TMPGEnc but it statescannot oppen or unsupported file i have no idea why coz it loads onto TMPGEnc but when i press start i get this message. The specs for the file are below:

352 X 240 (W*H)
Bit Rate: 55 kbps
Audio Format: MPEG Layer-3

Frame Rate: 14 fps
Data Rate: 47 kbps
Video Sample Size: 24 bits
Video Compression: DIVXMPG4 V3

These are the specs for the file.

Any other way to conver to mpeg?

Please someone helllllp......

Goto options > environment settings > VFAPI Plug in.

Then right click on these:

AVI VFW
AVI OPENDML

and select higher priority.

Make them so they are at least 1 in the priority level.

Load the file into Virtualdub post the "file information" and any possible prompts or error messages that you may see.

As a general note, TMPGEnc is incompatible with th divx 5.xx codecs, you will need to uninstall them prior to any mpeg conversion utilizing TMPGenc.

Thanx for all the previous help.

I was wondering if someone could help me. im converting avi 2 mpeg using TMPGEnc but one 97% is done i get this error message:

" Illegal floating decimal point calculation order"

Any idea what it means and how to solve it.

in the quantize matrix settings, tick all the boxes and then encode. Also, increase the directshow filter.

Just in case, perhaps back up the avi, and try divfix. Then tmpgenc Just a general note, TMPGEnc is incompatible with divx 5.xx

Also, before doing the above, I'm unsure, but it may help to increase the AFW compatibility header towards a higher value. Visit vcdhelp.com, too.
