On my Pioneer (with HDD recorder), I have to switch to the DVD drive, then open the "disc management" menu to find the "finalize disc" option. If I forgot to switch to the DVD drive, then the option in the "disc management" menu becomes the "format HDD" option, occupying the exact same spot as the "finalize disc".
