Internet problems

All my applications except microsoft windows explorer has no access to the internet. I tried playing silkroad and it doesn't work.

Could you have a virus?

Have you disabled and re-enabled local area connections in XP?

When I have our Child Filtering (Cyberpatrol) software running, it tends to do strange things like that.

I have disabled the firewall.
And the only programs I could think of that can block me are AVG antivirus,antispyware,AD Aware,AD Watch,Spybot search and destroy.

Look at their histories and see if they have deleted or quarantined any processes lately.

you probably had a malware that installed as an layered gateway on your broswer and internet connection, after killing it, it leaves you unable to connect

MS maliscous software removal tool or defender might patch you back up
