Who makes good DVD burners for burning thousands of CDs and DVDs

I make computers for dj's and aspiring rap artists. I built them towers with 4 dvd burner in them. I use to use lite on drive as they use to be considered the best burners. however the last computer that I built, the guy's burners stop working after he burned a thousand copies. I don't want that to happen again so I'm going to try new burners. I'm not into dvd burning like I use to be years ago, so I don't know the hot stuff.

I order my lightscribe dvd burners off of newegg. do anybody know of any good brand of burner for under 40 bucks there. I'm ordering 4

Are you using the burners to lightscribe?? Lightscribe burns out DVD burners VERY fast!

If you got a 1000 with lightscribing, you did very good!

I still believe in "you get what you pay for" 99% of the time.

I have been running 3 Plextors on this machine for a number of years now, and certainly not the cheapest, but they are sure reliable and with NO problems at all.

I would get the latest Plextors with the SATA connection, DL capable
(DVD-9), and wait to the prices to come down for HD/Blu-Ray.

is this so? I was wondering that. can somebody else verify this?

also. if I don't use the lightscribe part, will I still have a dvd burner with a short life span just because it is on the device?

        thanks for the help

            @VANCE

If you have all your SATA connection filled, if you have all your IDE position vacant for 4 reader/burners.

IDE Primary, master connection (your master burner you use most of the time)
IDE Primary, slave connection (only used for back-up, don't have both running master and slave on the IDE primary at the same time.

IDE Secondary, master connection (your back-up to your master burner, can be running at the same time as your primary master.
IDE Secondary, slave connection( only used for back-up, don't have the master and slave running at the same time on the Secondary IDE

                what's a thousand burns divided into 40$

                300$ worth of dvd's or 200$ of cd's

over 100 hours of burn time

                let's get some prespective here

you don't know these guys. they are cheap as heck. this guys is mad that he had to pay 900 for the computer (725 in computer parts). I'm not coming off of the money that I made (275) to foot it. my other dj friend whom I've made similar tower (dj wise) is mad that they went out after only a thousand burns, even though he made a bare minimum of 5,000 (more like 15,000) bucks. he spent 140 on his drives. we rma's his drives yet I have to listen to his mouth everyday until he get them back.

warranties do not cover commercial use and a true professional would probably replace the burner after 500 burns anyway to keep quality standards high

dj wise sell mixed cds that he make. this guy that I'm getting for now is an aspiring rapper. they use to charge him 600 bucks for 1000 cds, so he is trying to make them himself.

I have a good friend back in Texas that does this as well. However he found out very quickly that not only can he save time by using a CD/DVD duplicator, he kept his PC free of the task so that while he was out on a gig with that PC making a master disc, the duplicator back home would be churning out the copies from previous master discs.

There could be an opportunity for you with this if you think about it.

                            Here..I will fix it!

they already paid for this computer. they don't want to pay too much more.

this is it now minus the sony drives that we took back early yesterday because they weren't lightscribe.
