    widening dvd film?

Can anyone tell me if there's a way of literally widening a film to fit a widescreen. The film has originally been recorded in widescreen, but looks more like PIP and zooming blurs it.
I've uploaded it onto my pc to see if Nero would help but it still won't change the playback at all.

    any ideas please???

    thanks

you mean using XP's win media for playback? thinking on these lines I've already tried that but didn't make any difference.

I'm thinking more of using software to redo and widen?? no matter what size screen i use, its not working. It's been burned as widescreen but think they've made smaller so to fit on dvd. It's PIP no matter what I do, thats why I'm asking for help.

      anyone please?
