Help with DV capture using Ulead

I am new to video editing and need some help with video capture. I am using Ulead Video Studio 8.0. When I use my VideoExpress to capture the analog signal everything is fine. However, Ulead does not recognize by IEEE-1394 to capture the video digitally. (It doesn't show it as an option as a capture device.) I have checked in Device Manager and the IEEE-1394 appears to be installed correctly. How do I get Ulead to capture via the Firewire?

Being a Ulead video studio fan,
Off the top of my head your problem may be that you are using Video studio 8 SE[ special edition] which is for analog devices.
    camacorders, vcr's etc...
That edition which was bundled with certain hardware does not recognize digital devices..

I use it when someone want's a vcr tape[analog] converted to digital files so as to burn and play a dvd.

I use 9 or above with my Panasonic Minidv digital camcorder.

If that is the case, you need to get UVS 9, 10, or 11..

      Ulead 8

Thanks! It was bundled with my Video Express capture device. Since I really like the software I will get a newer version!
