cant play mpeg movies!

Hi all,

I recently downloaded a movie which was in mpeg format, but windows media player or quicktime will not play it

Anyone have any ideas on how to play the film, or convert it to something else.

Any help is greatly appreciated

It is possible that the file is an MPEG-2 file. Having a software DVD player, like WinDVD or PowerDVD, should solve the problem.

What exactly is the error your getting?

just a little note..there is a little program out there called "mpeg properties" and you drop your mpeg into it and it tells you all the properties of it just like when you right click an avi and click "details"..i am not sure where i got it..maybe vcdhelp.com
