tv software (cvbs) objects not smooth

was wondering why when im playing a game (i got ps2 hooked up to tv card) objects (including character) seem zig zaggy on the edges and not smooth. is that the software (winfast pvr) or some video setting?
it seems to appear more on the actual video... not as bad in screenshots.
