    windowboxed?

I recently purchased a new hp laptop and i just burned a movie to see if it worked and when i watched the movie it had all four sides with the black bar i guess its called windowboxed. When i checked the options before i burned the movie i chose normal full screen. But i don't know why its not showing full screen i've tried several dvd players and it plays the same on all of them. Its a divx movie that i burned on a DVD+R using windows dvd maker. does anyone know how i can remove this so it doesn't show up on every movie i burn? i burned another copy choosing the widescreen option and the movie came out the same. i also have roxio installed on the computer but i like how windows dvd maker lets you customize the start menu, it lets you choose the clips you want to play in the background and the audio. do i need to convert the movie to something else to get it to play in full screen?

I wonder if a PSP or IPOD profile was used when the avi was created

I honestly have no idea how the file was created and most of the movies on my computer are .avi but i don't know if i have to convert it to something else to get it to play properly.

Have you tried resizing the video? Normal standard video definition is 720 x 576, most computer is 1024 x 768.

Windows media player will play the clip at best quality. WMvideo is usually 320 x 240
