I am converter my minidvds to .M4V files so I can store them on my terastation and view them with my apple tv. I am using AVS VIDEO CONVERTER to convert the videos directly from my minidvds. My I look at my minidvds in my dvd drive I see a bunch of files but my converter only sees Video_TS.IFO and VTS_01_0.IFO I have converted both and they both seem to be the same when I view the newly created .M4V files. The Video_TS.IFO converts in about half the time it takes the VTS_01_0.IFO to convert. I am wondering if one is better to convert then the other. They both seem to have the same quality of playback and have all the viedo from the minidvd. I want to resolve this issue before I devote the time of converter all my old videos and storing them. Thank you all for responding!!!!

VIDEO_TS.IFO is a kind of global manager for a DVD. VTS_XX_0.IFO is the information manager for the titles in VTS XX. It is not a matter of converting VIDEO_TS.IFO or one of the VTSs. The only video associated with VIDEO_TS.IFO is the VIDEO_TS.VOB (this is a menu or warnings). The titles are all in VTS_XX_0.IFO.
Anyway, if you are satisfied with the output, use the one that takes less time.

Thank you
thank you for the response. The video_ts.IFO came out in the least amount of time. For some reason the vts_01_0.IFO produces two copies of the video in one file. I think if there is no issue I will just convert the video_ts.IFO. One more question I have is that when I convert the video to m4v it does not show as widescreen. Can I adjust the size without disrupting the quality? It currently comes out at 640x480. Thank you!Comment
