I have a sort-of different PAL to NTSC conversion I need to do.
Someone I know ripped a UK VHS tape that was 25fps and had the usual PAL speedup, but at 29.97fps. Unfortunately, I couldn't get them to rip it at 25fps, and I'm stuck with the NTSC.
I want to convert it back into 25fps, so I can then use something like TMPGEnc to slow it down by 4%. The only problem with that is that ripping PAL at NTSC forced it to become telecined, and most inverse telecine methods leave quality loss.
Does anyone know how to do it so it looks as good as the original? I don't want to waste long hours on TMPGEnc if there's a better way.
