'm doing a poll on whether people nowadays download movies of the net and then watch at homw, thus not going to the Cinema.

It depends. I download movies and usually watch it on my own or with a few (no more than 2 or 3) friends around. However, most of the time we would rather go to the cinema and watch it (the whole bunch of me, totalling more than 10) on the BIG screen.

I myself have not voted because there are not enough choices for the poll. I don't download movies (only anime fansubs) and would rather go watch them on the big screen, together with my friends.

i am on 56k so i dont download.and if i had a faster connection i still wouldnt..i am not gonna download some crappy rip in some messed up format...i will rip it myself..but then again it will have to be a GREAT movie for me to rip..i seem to go to the theater twice a year...again..to get me to go there it better be really good..i would rather just rent at home(better sound anyway)and like onerose said..can go to the can whenever i want, and nuke some popcorn.

i find only 2-3 films a year to be worth watching in the cinema. anyway i dont really like the sound in high-tech sound cinemas, i find it to be annoying and way too much loud and overwhelming. i prefer my simple stereo instead.

a friend of mine works for an internet provider, has a knowledge of films second only to imdb.com , and also their servers are flooded with movies. i have access to the net via a fast cable connection, so we cooperate together nicely.

              i download around 20-25 gigs a month

in my country, a hollywood movie ticket price is around 4 us dollars, whereas a blank cd is around 70 cents.

                "i download around 20-25 gigs a month "

That'd be like 30+ movies per month (a conservative estimate)? Wow that's a lot!

Rips are pretty good John Boy, especially with TV-OUT (if you have it) they look awesome on a tv screen, better than cable movies

Most movies are crap, not worth downloading or watching. If I have to download something, I make sure its worth my time.

no, not all of the turnover for movies, i couldnt keep up watching them.
i dont use filesharing stuff either, as i like to know whats using up the bandwidth and if its worth it.

to some nice people out there
please dont ask me for movies.
