Needing Feedback On LG GBW-H20L Optical Drive

Looking for some feedback on the new LG GBW-H20L optical drive


6X BD-R/2X BD-RE read and write compatible

That drive has the Renesas chipset which is the preferred chipset for LG drives. I'm not a big LG fan, but that drive should be pretty good.

This is a new model I think, just announced recently so it might not be on the LG website yet. The are having a sale on the old model right now, but the specs for both old and new seem to the same (both 6x/2x BD-R/RE read/write, and 16x DVD write). The only thing different might be that the new drive doesn't read HD DVD anymore (so less licensing costs), but nobody knows for sure since the new BE06 model announced at the same time still has HD DVD reading. Strange one from LG.
