Recently, the administrator of this site did a review on using Nero Vision 5 (which is a part of Nero 8). I've been successfully using the DVD-ROM (UDF 250) program of Nero 8, to burn AVCHD files to a D5 DVD disc. The raw files are x264.mkv. Using tsMuxeR 1.8.4, the files can be converted to .ts (for conversion to AVCHD by the Nero Vision encoder) or can be generated into a BDMV file that can be burned as a DVD-ROM UDF 250. The DVD is playable on PS3 as well as many new Blu-ray players. Unfortunately, the program will only accept ONE BDMV file for burning, so if you have, say, 3 files of 1GB each (TV episodes, etc.) you can't use this method. Even burning a "multisession" disc will not create more than 1 playable file on the burned DVD.
Now the Nero Vision 5 program will allow the creation of menus, so it should be possible to fit 3 1GB files on a DVD disc using menus, right?
No........ when importing a 1.45GB.ts file (the program will not accept a BDMV file)
Nero says the file is too big (over 4.3GB) so the quality must be reduced to fit on a DVD 5.
Is there any other commercial product that will allow the creation of multiple AVCHD files (with menus) without expanding the files 400%
Thanks for any input,
Ben
