    Automatic Splitter

    Hey Everyone!

I'm about to start recording a videogame project that I have and the videos
are going to be hosted on Youtube who have a 10 minute length limit. What
I would like to know is, is there any program out there that can automatically
split a video file into smaller ones based on length?

Right now I'm using VirtualDub mostly when I cut and trim most of my videos
and I've seen that there's an option to "Save Segmented AVI" where you can
select based on filesize, but no length on minutes and seconds and that's what
    I'm looking for.

If anyone here happens to know of any program that can do this or if there's
a way to do this with VirtualDub, I would be really grateful if you could share
    your knowledge with me.

    Well, yes and no.

As far as I know, you will always have to pick the interval yourself. But there are a few options?

What is the source material? If it's a DVD, you can set the chapter points (I like TMPGEnc DVD Author for this), and then use a converter and select "split by chapter".

Or if it's MPEG (DVD or VCD), you can also use VideoReDo (there's a free trial), select the start and end, and cut it. It'll save the split files pretty fast and you can then convert them.

    For AVI, maybe try avidemux?

The source material is an .AVI file with VBR Audio. I use a Capture Card to
record the videogame footage straight from the TV to my computer.

I've checked Avidemux and it didn't have any option to split the video based
on time. I kinda wanna have to avoid having to manually cut the video every
10 minutes since a full playthrough of this game can take maybe a total of 3
maybe 4 hours and it would be a bit tidy to sit and try and cut out 10 minute
parts with your own hands, since there will most likely be MANY parts.

It doesn't seem like it would be an impossible feature in some video splitting
program to be able to chop up a long video into parts based on your desired
length for each part it cuts, but so far I haven't been able to find a good
      program that can do this.

Solveig AVI Trimmer may be a better option for this.
