    Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate

I have a licensed copy of Video Converter Ultimate. For some reason I cannot get a video "preview" on any file. I can get a preview on a picture "merge" input, but not a file. In other words, the screen is dark!!

When I first installed this program there was an error in the "avp.exe" module and a click around. Since then I have not seen this error on repeated installations. The program frequently produces errors in "avp.exe" whenever I try to view a file in "preview".

I have no idea why this is happening and neither does support. Help!!

What are you trying to convert?

I stay far away from all-in-one converters, Xilisoft included. Using programs made specifically for a certain filetype produces far better results.

So I can't help with Xilisoft products, but I can recommend a better alternative...

      Hi rkw,

Q1: What OS are you running?

Have you tried uninstalling the program and running Reg Cleaner and then installing it again!?!?

Make sure you turn off the computer off after you unistall and after Reg Clean and then before installing the Program make sure you are NOT connected to the Internet.

      Post back with your results.

      MERRY XMAS!

        Xilisoft

I have tried everything, including re-installing my operating system. I've noticed that the module cannot be located in the registry. I'm running windows xp home with spc2

          Hi RKW,

I don't know what version you are running ... I think I read somewhere other people reporting problems with earlier 5.0 and 5.1 versions ... and Xilisoft was working on the bugs ... but you can try

Downloading the latest version from their site ... and then use your Serial Number. Hopefully you have the Lifetime Free Upgrade version otherwise you might not be able to register it ...

But before you Install it ... some folks say to make sure you are not connected to the Internet ... and after installing & applying your S/N ... Shut down and come back up and try it.

          Post back your result.

          G!

I have the latest version. I tried your remedy, but no cigar. The preview just doesn't work.

I have tried everything, but nothing seems to work. Xilisoft support has been absolutely worthless on this issue. I'm running windows xp home with spc2

Apart from the near constant SPAM by these ImToo/Xilisoft promoters, it was clear (at least to me) from the start that they were spruiking rubbish.

Sorry you have spent your moeny on Xilisoft junk.

                Regards

                  Cannot get a preview

I had the same problem before. You might need to upgrade your video card. A 64-bit, 128mb graphics card is enough.

                      Hi rkwbw,

You might want to edit your above post and just Use your Intials instead your full name!!!

rkwbw .... why are you using the XP/SPC2!?!?

BTW, I just had a crazy idea ... do you happen to have another version of Windows avaiable ... say like XP, SP2 or SP3 ... if so, then install the Microsoft FREE VirtualPC and install that version on it and run your Xilisoft on the VPC ... problem solved! I think!

                      G!

                        "Movavi 8"

Actually, the system is xp/sp2. Xillisoft never figured out the problem; However, Movavi 8 is a much better program. Movavi 7 was a piece of junk, but they worked things out and it now beats Xillisoft ten ways to Sunday.
