hi first time post here.I have a pioneer dvd burner. It works very well and the only time i ever have issues with it is when i reinstall windows. I had some pop up ads like tv playing in the background even when i was doing nothing so i redid my pc. Anywho i was burning dvds with nero in 4:00. I reinstalled and now it takes a hour. I did all xp updates and cannot figure out what i need to do to get burning back to 4:00 a dvd. someone please help

Go to Device Manager and make sure that the IDE channel that your burner is connected to is set for DMA and not in PIO mode. If it's on PIO mode uninstall it(the IDE channel) then reboot and when Windows finds it and reinstalls it, it should reset to DMA.
