Microsoft DV file -> AviSynth = No Sound :(

    Hi,

Ive just bought a DV cam plus a firewird card and installed it all. Using Premiere I can record section and save them to HDD in Microsoft DV format.

Now I dont know how to convert this to generic .AVI format so I can use it in VirtualDUB (which is faster than Premiere).

I've installed AVI Synth and it work fine for importing the video stream but there is no sound coming through.

Does anyone have any ideas ?

There is sound in the original Microsoft DV AVI, you can hear it when played through Media Player.

    Thanks

You have probably a type 1 dv file (in that case there's no separate audio stream). Look at the thread http://forum.digital-digest.com/show...hlight=wilbert
and get that utility that converts a type 1 file
    to a type 2 file.
