    How Can This Fit?

I was browsing wide screen wallpaper and I found this. How is this supposed to fit? It's too big, there's no monitors with a screen this wide.

You want that pic as your wallpaper ? What is the resolution of your monitor? You have to crop/resize the pic to fit your monitor.

These wall papers are for dual(or multi) monitors.

If you don't want to crop it and want to keep the aspect ratio, you can resize until both dimensions fit. Then you can avoid the free areas looking lame by creating a color background in Photofiltre that's close to the background of the picture, in the res. of your screen, and just copy/paste the picture over the background. When you use New in the file menu just select the dimensions of the screen res and a background color. Then open your wallpaper and do copy, then paste into the background and Save As.

edit: or you can just crop in Photofiltre and cut out the best part in your screen res. There's a menu where you can put in the origin and the numbers to avoid free hand cropping with the mouse. It's very easy and the freeware version has all these tools.

Here is a widescreen wallpaper(16:9) that I created from one of my trekking photos. You might use it if you like.
