    AutoDetection of Codecs

I need a program (freeware) that can run from CD (no installation), detect the presence of a codec (specifically DixX 5, although a more general checker would be preferable, especially if it could also do audio), and allow the user the option of installing it if it is missing.

NOTE: I've checked through about 30+ programs on this site, but the only ones I can find insist on doing the entire autorun menuing process, which I distinctly do not want this program to do. (I use Autoplay Menu Studio for this - need its flexibility in formatting, dialog, and program integration.)
It may look like I'm doing nothing, but actually, at a cellular level I'm quite busy.
