    another codec ? [hem]

downloaded a movie file (MIB II) from kazaa and trying to open it the player only shows an errormessage instead of playing it (no video and no sound)

    the filename starts with [HEM]
it seems to me that it is another kind of (smr) or {tmd} or something like this

were can i get the codec or program to play this file
does somebody know something about this ?

In order to determine which codec(s) you need for a particular .AVI, you should do the following:

    1) Load the file into VirtualDub

    2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

    3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (both video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

Since it is the same as MS MPEG-4 v1, you can use the AVI FourCC Changer tool to change the APvc to MP41 :

Download software for playing and making DivX movies

This will make the file playable without needing to install any codecs, as long as Windows Media Player is installed (since WMP 6.4 or newer comes with the MS MPEG-4 v1, v2 and v3 codecs).

You can try this tool as well :

Download software for playing and making DivX movies

I think the AngelPotion codec uses the FourCC code APvc, although just like the DivX 3.11 Alpha codec, they all use a hacked version of the MS MPEG-4 codec.
