VobSub question...

I'm basically confused by VobSub, but I think I can sum down the bulk of my confusion into one question:

If I use the VobSub filter in VirtualDub, does whoever views my video need to have the VobSub DS filter to play it back, or is it actually added to the video information?

When you use the vobsub filter in virtualdub, the subs will be 'burned' into the video image. So no special filter will be needed for playback, and the subs can't be removed without chopping the picture.
