HP DVD burner (dvdi100) how good is it?

Hello everyone,
I'm new and this is my first post. Could you guys give me your opinions on HP DVDi100 burner?
Cause, i'm going to purchase a DVD burner, my considering is HP DVDi100. its peed is 2.4 x, price ($229) and it also can burn CD at speed 12x. I 'd like to know is it good enough? what its pros and cons? Does it work ok with winXP, do they have driver and softwares update?

I don't mind it only can burn DVD- RW (HP model DVDi200 could burn DVD-r but we have to pay another $200). Any brand DVDburner has the same HP DVD's features and costing is not much different?

1-They stopped making that model
2-It can ONLY write to DVD+RW

I bought that last week, and returned it for thhe 200i witch can write to both DVD+R and +RW
