yet another (noob) sound problem

Hi all,

I have installed microDVD and windows media player 7.1 with its latest codecs. I have also installed Divx pro 5.0.2. Still I have on a few movies sound problems. I can't hear anything. When I play such a movie in wmp 7.1, he starts to download a codec... and then: again no sound. Does anybody have a sollution to this problem?

A few possibilities for the sound format:
1. MP3 (You shouldn't have problem playing it)
2. WMA (Downloading the codec from MS should solve it, or just install 3.11)
3. AC3 (Install the AC3 filter from a codec pack, or install a software DVD player)
4. OGG (Install Ogg Vorbis Direct Show filter implementation)

To be sure of what format the sound is in, open video in Virtualdub and check File Information.
