Easiest way I've found if you don't want to re-encode to use the remaining 598megs of space, is to use VirtualDub.
There are guides for this sort of thing though.
Will have a quick look...

ps- If you do want to re-encode have a look at the GordianKnot 'sticky' guide in the DivX conversion/encoding forum.Last edited by Apnoea; 18 Jul 2002, 02:24 AM. -
Reencoding at a higher bitrate wont, give you better quality. And of course you can't use GordianKnot to reencode avi files.Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

Use VirtualDUB or nandub to cut the file. Remenber that avi-files can only be cut at keyframes (use the buttons with the yellow arrows to jump from keyframe to keyframe). For a 702 MB-movie it might be good to use a bigger cd-r. Many 700-MB-cd-r's can store 702 MB or more. Or you cut of the end credits and reencode the audio with a lower bitrate to reduce the filesize to 650 MB.don't trust in guidesComment
