How to get multiple DivX (avi) files onto a DVD for TV playback??

I have about 2 dozen files, each around 300-500 meg that show a DivX watermark when played on the PC. Although it says they are 640 x 480 the actuall screen size is about half that.. making it go full screen makes it too coarse. I've played around with one file and converted it to MP4 and run it under Quicktime and its looks really great at a reasonable screen size.. it could be 640 x 480. However, the file size ( which was 355 Meg in the original file) is now only 278 Meg. But when I try putting it through MYDVD or Roxio 7 it uses up over 3 Gig of the disc allowance..
I expect that DivX does need to make a smaller image to keep the size down but even if I could get all the files on 2 DVD's that would play thru my TV DVD player I would be happy..
It's too much to expect that just copying the files to the DVD would be enough.. nothing could be that easy.. so can anyone advise me what my chances are and how best to go about it..

Use DIKO, its a good tool to start with and you can get started in minutes.

You can use the avisynth scripts to resize to whatever you taste/quality allows.

Goto the divx codec icon, in your taskbar and look for an option to disable the logo which you get for few seconds during play, you can disable this logo.
