MPEG woes, Audio out of sync (ADOBE PREMIERE)

Im using Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5

When i import MPEG video into Premiere:

    - video is choppy
    - and audio is out of sync ( video playing faster, unevenly)
    - the MPEG plays normally when i havnt put it through Premeire

Could anyone help with the problem?

    Thanks in advance,

    WG

You can try DGIndex and VFAPIConvEN to frameserve the file to Premiere or Avisynth Premiere plugin if you want to use AviSynth instead. For editing mpeg video, please try MPEG Video Wizard to maintain quality because re-encoding with Premiere less or more, you will degrade it

      Or don't use Premiere

If you just need to edit it, try what benbryant suggested, or use something like Ulead Video Studio, it works better

While you're waiting for him to tell you how he resolved his issues, if you are having similar trouble, try using SUPER to convert your mpeg video first, then use your dvd authoring software with that converted video..
SUPER is a nice and fast converter and you'll find links to it here, in it's own subforum.
