trying to import movie into youtube

i have been trying to import my self made movie into You Tube, but it won't open. I don't even know what kind of format it is. I can play it with VLC on my mac. It consists of 2 folders AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS. I am guessing it is an dvd format ?

But how can i change the format into something you tube will recognise ?

can anybody help this amateur filmmaker ?
