Help with MediaCoder

I just downloaded the latest version of mediacoder and having troubles finding a guide for it...
what am tryin to do is put an anime videos here's the file
Naruto Shippuuden aspect ratio is 856x480 and have the H.264

i was told that mediacoder is good to use with that type of format...and unable to look for a guide...please help

Hi KnightWalker,

what are you trying to do ... want to convert from what format to what format?

Just open your file in mediacoder and under the TABS below choose your formats for VIDEO, AUDIO, and FPS ... and leave everthing else as is ... if you have chosen correctly the MediaCoder will start doing it's thing if not it won't ... then change some of your Options and that is it.

hey sorry i totally forgot about this post LOL...well anyways i got it work on virtual dub so yeah...but i have another problem, i wanna resize my vids the size is 856x480, so i would like to know what size to put them on the standard CRT TV....in fact is there like a calculator out there would help with getting the size you want

What are the Display Aspect Ratio(DAR) and Pixel Aspect Ratio(PAR) of this file ? Use Mediainfo(Tree-view) to provide the information.

Display Aspect Ratio: 16/9

as for the Pixel Aspect Ratio i can not locate it anywhere on the tree view unless its this
Width 856
Height 480

OK. 856 X 480 is already very close to 16:9. So why do you need to resize it ? This video will display in the standard(4:3) TV with black bars on top and bottom. Do you want a fullscreen video ?

yeah i did that and this is how it turns out on my dvd player to tv....sorry for the long reply, my baby daughter kept us up all night LOL
the first one is the dvd file and the second one is the original file

The AR in the DVD looks OK. Are you concerned about the black bars on the two sides ? Please outline the procedure of your conversion from original to DVD.And please provide full info of the converted file(using Mediainfo ofcourse).

I run it through Nero Vision just add the file, hit next till i get to where to burn it so i put it on my DVD Drive

Looks fine.
As I asked earlier : Are you concerned about the black bars on the two sides ? And those bars are there when you play the DVD into your TV ?

No am not worried about the bars in the top or bottom of the screen, did i mention the i have a standard TV i might have forgot to. what am tryin to do is get the whole video on the screen as what i did before, am using VirtualDub and heres the guide thats been helping me when the files were 640*480

OK. So you want a video with 16:9 display to fully fit a 4:3 TV screen ?
The only way you can do it, keeping the correct aspect ratio, is by Pan and Scan. Your DVD player surely has the option of pan and scan.Remember that you will not be able to see parts of the video on two sides.
When your files were 640x480 there was no problem because 640:480 = 4:3.
