About recode.

Hello, I've been using Dvd Shrink, Dvd Decrypter and lately Dvd43 as add-in.

I heard that Recode works faster than any of this programs above, is that true? besides, Recode is supposed to work only with unprotected dvd's so how 's that supposed to work faster than DVD Decrypter or the old faithfull DVD Srhrink ????

Other thing I heard is that there is another program, even faster, it can rip and make copies of dvd's in less than 20 min's.

Is it true or is just mere crap and I should stick to the very well known and respected available tools ?

The other final thing, who's gonna take care of developing or keep working on tools like Dvd Shrink, since development was halted on both Shrink an Decrypter ??

It's the compression that is faster.

That program could be anything if it even exists. Anyway, it is going to take 30 minutes at 2x, 15 minutes at 4x, 7 minutes at 8x etc just to burn the DVD.

No one will be further developing Shrink and probably not DVD Decrypter.

So Basically the rypping is the same speed but the recompresion when making the iso is faster?? and when burning is depending on the speed you choose to burn as always.

Am I correct ?

What about recode, how does it work?

There is no further development for Shrink, because this guy now works for Ahead (Nero Inc. or whatever).
So Recode uses the same engine (speed optimized) for Transcoding DVD9 to DVD5.

I think that Shrink is still more user friendly and easier to use than Recode.
For example it is not possible to switch to 'maximum sharpness' in Recode.

Or I've heard that some people have problems with the correct size if they create an ISO-Image (instead of folders).

So no doubt about:
Until now DVDShrink 3.2 is still the best (stable) tool to create the highest output quality.
Recode creates the same quality, but it is still buggy.
