    Some DVDs don't play

For some odd reason, most of the DVDs that I have decrypted using DVD Decrypter and burned using Nero Recode 2 don't play on standalone DVD players or even the computer itself.

    My steps are:
    1) Decrypt (rip to ifo) DVD using DVD Decrypter (3.5.4) (all standard settings)
    2) Burn using Nero Recode 2: My DVD Backup...

I cannot believe my stupid ass did not check to see if the copies were actually working or not.

anyways, could anyone please tell me what the problem could be? The only successful movies I have had luck with are Boo and Kung Fu Hustle...Fantastic 4, National Treasure and such were not working even on the computer.

Please let me know whats going on...I am not even decreasing the size with Recode 2 (for some movies)...I am using DVD+R DL discs and some DVD+R discs and both are not working.

There are a multitude of reasons why a burned dvd won't play,
this stuff is not very user friendly. I have been playing with dvd's for over
2 years and still learning. Starting with a good burner and some decent blanks, I made playable dvd's the first day thanks to a a shrink and nero guide at mrbass. Having 2 burning softwares can be a problem if they don't like each other.
A nero log will tell us what problems are more likely to be the cause.

Just some notes before NeroHistory log

I am trying to get a Nero History log and copy it here but until I do that, here are a couple of notes...

      - I am using a LG DVD-RAM/R/RW Combo Drive which is USB 2.0 based but I am using it on a USB 1.1 system.
      - I have not gotten any burn errors from Nero Recode 2 (Nero 7 Premium) on any of the DVDs...it has always been successful (or so it states).
      - I am burning DVDs at MAX speed.
      - I am using HP DVD+R blanks.

Please offer suggestions if you think any of the above could be causing a problem.

won't work unless you can burn at 1x or slower

          works somehow...

          SUCCESS!
I finally was able to make a few copies when I lowered the speed to 4X from 8X...and this is with USB 1.1!! So is there any real reason to get a USB 2.0 card and upgrade my system for this purpose? I mean, will I be able to burn at a full 8X with USB 2.0?

Well something slowed the burn down enough to let you burn,
how long did the burn take, normal 4x burns take 15 minutes?
USB2 at it's best would give you burns in 10-15 minutes.
