    Nero & DVD Player

I've recently ripped a few dvd's using Nero Recode and was very happy with the ease of use with the program and also found the quality when shrinking to 700mb still quite watchable.

My problem lies in actually watching the movies through my dvd player. I purchased this player (Telefunken TDV-668) because it was able to play mp4 and divx among others but it won't play the Nero rips.

Does anyone know if I can change the settings when ripping with Nero in order to be able to play with my DVD?

You need a DVD-Player which is 'Nero Digital' (Standard) or 'Nero Digital AVC' (advanced H264) certified to play (don't know what you use ?).
Nero Digital is not compatible with standard MP4 (MPEG4) containers.

I suggest to try DGIndex > AVISynth > VirtualDubMod to encode to Xvid.
You get better results (visual quality) with additional filters (sharpness etc.) than with the easy to use (but stupid) Recode Nero Digital.
      Why 700 mb files ?
      CD-Rs ?
      I suggest to use DVD+Rs (instead of 6 or 7 CD-Rs).
