I've got 13 mkv video files that take up 7.28 gb (almost 600mb each). The video looks like mp4, but I'm not sure what the audio is. What I'm trying to do is load the entire folder into Nero recode 2 and automatically adjust the bitrate and quality settings so that I can shrink them down to fit onto one dvd. I've done this before with avi files, but when I try to load mkv files into Nero I just get an error message

recode probably doesn't do mkv's. you can use mkvtoonix to extract & mux to avi though i wouldn't recommend it. anyway that's a huge reduction, down to ~330mb each, huge quality loss. my advice is either encode individually with something like mediacoder or meGUI, or just use 2 dvd's. -
I don't think the reduction would be a problem, when I was experimenting with the avi's I had nero take some from 300-400mb down to 100-200mb and even when using the tv-out on my vidcard to play them on my hdtv I didn't notice any change in quality.Comment
