Nero Recode Second Pass Issue

Whenever i try to encode the files with 2 passes. i get an error that nero has enountered a problem. sometimes intantly or sometimes around 30 or 40 percent. Any help guys?
and please can some one tell me difference b/w Nero Digital and Nero Digital AVc? which one is better? Thanks Guys.
